What is vision and why does the Bible tell us that without it, we will perish? (Proverbs 29:18) Most of you over the years would have heard a great many sermons and lectures about vision and the importance of goal setting. Things like “ . . . if you believe . . . you can achieve. There is a good Chinese proverb that goes like this:
If your vision is for a year, plant wheat.
If your vision is for 10 years, plant trees.
If your vision is for a lifetime, plant people.
As a Christ Follower, those of us who have sworn allegiance to the Saviour, loose the right to have our personal vision in front of God’s vision. We lost that right at the cross. We have been bought with a great price. God’s vision for the church is clearly defined in scripture. Love me and Love People. See you Sunday for Vision Sunday.
